App Developer, ICS 314 Final Project (Software Engineering)
The LetUmGrow app is somewhat a social media app for plants in Hawaii (with a special focus on native plants). This project was an original idea with a team of 5 people. This app is intended to enhance the relationship between people and plants. The goal was for LetUmGrow to give each individual plant an identity. Different aspects of the plant can be updated via their location on the map (is fruiting, height, needs pruning, soil pH level, etc.). We met with the Landscaping and Grounds Department heads at UH Manoa and received a CSV file of the plants in their UH Plant Map database. The app can be used to keep track of plants in your garden, at work, or even on your favorite hike. We used Meteor Web Framework, Mongo DB, and Semantic UI to create the 'LetUmGrow' app. We used GitHub organizations and repositories to pull and push our individual work. We followed Issue Driven Project Management during the duration.
